Loved Like Jesus

God speaks truth into us through His Word and His Spirit. The Bible reminds us that God loves His children, His disciples, just as He loves Jesus (John 17:23). And God said of Jesus…

And when Jesus was baptized, immediately he went up from the water, and behold, the heavens were opened to him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and coming to rest on him; And a voice from heaven said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.” Matthew3:16-17

God speaks truth into us in three primary areas: identity, belonging, and purpose:

This is my son: identity

Whom I love: belonging

With whom I am well pleased: purpose

God speaks such love and grace into our lives because Jesus' sacrifice and resurrection is sufficient for it.

Adversely, the accuser tries to get us to believe lies of our identity, belonging, and purpose:

You are a nobody: identity

You are unloved: belonging

You are nothing: purpose

The Christian life simply put is lie replacement. Jesus came for us to know the truth and for the truth to set us free leading to an abundant life. The accuser seeks to kill, steal, and destroy the truth of who God is and what He has done for us (John 8:32; John 10:10).

The Spirit of God rests upon all believers in Jesus. And God will affirm this truth in you, “You are my child, whom I love, with you I am well pleased.”

God loves you as much as He loves Jesus because Jesus has done all that is required to for you to have a love relationship with God. May your heart be open to hear from Him, “You are my child, whom I love, with you I am well pleased.”
